SAFETY RULES AT THE CAPARICA SURF SCHOOL:
Make security a priority
- Protect your ears
- Always wear earplugs. Keep water out of the eardrum
- Drink plenty of water
- Stay hydrated, don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
- Protect your eyes from the sun
- Wear 100% UV sunglasses
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages
- Surfing while drunk is not a good idea, danger of drowning
- Don’t surf alone
- You should always have someone nearby in case of emergency.
- Always warm up
- Include a warm-up routine before and after entering the water.
- Don’t dive in
- Diving headfirst, especially near the beach, can cause damage to the cervical spine
- Protect from the sun
- Staying in the shade and using sunscreen is the best way to protect yourself from the sun
