The Caparica surf school Gecko Surf School is close to Lisbon and was founded in 2016. Our team is made up of skilled surf instructors and enthusiasts. They are certified by the FPS (Portuguese Surfing Federation) and have extensive experience in the water. Over two hours, we teach the essence of surfing. The two main techniques every surfer needs to know: how to paddle and catch waves, and how to stand up on the board. This is the start of surfing and a lifestyle!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n

What to expect from our lessons:<\/h4>\n

Safety briefing
Warm-up
Beach instruction on how to paddle and stand up on the board (stand-up)
Water practice according to the instructions given on the beach
In-water feedback with the instructor<\/p>\n

What you need to bring:<\/h4>\n

Swim kit (don\u2019t forget your towel!)
Sunscreen
Clothing suitable for the season<\/p>\n

What we provide:<\/h4>\n

Surfboards \u2013 suited to your experience
Wetsuit \u2013 suitable for the conditions (don\u2019t forget the zip is at the back)
Accident insurance<\/p>\n

The meeting point is near Lisbon in Costa da Caparica<\/p>\n

Group sizes:<\/h4>\n

We accept groups of up to 20 people; however, during water practice we stick to the FPS (Portuguese Surfing Federation) recommended ratio of 1:5 (1 instructor for 5 students).
